The Finnish Paperworkers’ Union and the Federation of Finnish Forest Industries have reached agreement on a labour contract. According to a joint declaration issued on Sunday, the two-year contract raises pay this year by 0.5 percent.
The two sides also said that they had agreed on an extensive development programme to support competitiveness and to preserve jobs in the pulp and paper industry.
The two sides also agreed on working together to make sure that the contract would promote employee well-being, the constant improvement of competitiveness and productivity, and the establishment of new models for working hours.
