Spiral Wound Gasket Style CGI

Spiral Wound Gasket manufactured by Wealson is widely uesd for sealing flange joints, manhole and handhole covers, tube covers, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors and valves, in industries such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, shipbuilding, and food processing, in power industries and nuclear power stations. They are ideal for steam, oil, liquids, gases, acids, alkalines, various organic mediums and solvents. It can be manufactured with any material as per customers requirement in accordance with the standard ASME, DIN, BS, API or to customer’s specification.

Spiral wound gaskets are produced in several style and combination of meterials to fit the most stringent application. Spiral wound gaskets are usually of circular shape, however we can produce them in other shapes such as: oval, rectangular, with round corners, etc. Our standard production program comprises a range of spiral wound gaskets with inner diameters of 10mm to 3000mm and non-standard dimensions and shapes, and larger diameters are available on request.

Spiral Wound Gasket Style CGI

Style CGI spiral wound gaskets are a Style CG gasket fitted with an internal ring which gives an additional compression limiting stop and provides a heat and corrosion barrier protecting gasket windings and preventing flange erosion. Suitable for use with flat face and raised face flanges and specified for high pressure/temperature sevie class 900 and above or where corrosive or toxic media are present.

It is customary to select inner ring material to be the same as the metal winding.

Note on use of Inner Rings

	ASME B16.20 which covers spiral wound gaskets requires the use of solid metal inner rings
	Pressure Class 900:nominal pipe sizes 24" and larger
	Pressure Class 1500:nominal pipe sizes 12" and larger
	Pressure Class 2500:nominal pipe sizes 4" and larger
	All PTFE filled gaskets.
